Twenty five arrested in relation to "Operation Boa" on the 8/3/12

Gardaí from Coolock Garda station have arrested 25 people in the past 48 hours for involvement in the sale and supply controlled drugs.

All 25 have been charged and released on bail to appear in court at a future date.

Over 80 charges have already been preferred against those arrested as part of a major Garda investigation into Drug Trafficking in the Coolock area of Dublin.

Fifteen people have already been arrested and charged as part of this operation.

‘Operation Boa’ has been a six month covert operation which has dismantled a number of significant drug distribution networks operating in the Belcamp and Darndale areas.  The Drug Unit based at Coolock Garda station working closely with the Garda National Drug Unit have gathered evidence against significant targets most of whom are expected to face multiple charges of drug supply.

During the course of searches carried out in the past two days further amounts of cocaine and heroin have also been seized along with ammunition and large amounts of cash.  The focus of this operation has been to gather evidence against significant drug dealers in local communities and ensure these persons are brought before the courts.
