Gardai are investigating a robbery which occurred at a jeweller’s premises at Main Street, Castleblayney, Co Monaghan yesterday 07/03/2012.
At 11.53am, three males entered the jeweller’s shop and became involved in a physical struggle with the owner during which one of the culprits then pepper-sprayed the owner. The culprits proceeded to smash the display cases with a hammer and stole diamonds & gold jewellery. They then ran from the shop and got into a black Citroen Saxo vehicle bearing the registration plates 00 D 67315, the vehicle drove in the direction of the Keady Road. The scene was preserved and a full technical examination was carried out.
