Unidentified body recovered from the sea off Cliffs of Moher on the 22/5/12

Gardai in Ennistymon, Co. Clare are appealling to members of the public to assist them in identifying the body of a male who was recovered from the sea off the Cliffs of Moher on Tuesday afternoon the 22nd May 2012.

He was in the sea for about 24 hours.  An admission ticket for O'Brien's Tower, Cliffs of Moher was found in his jacket pocket.  This was issued on the 22nd May 2012 shortly after 2 p.m.


He may have travelled from Galway as a Bus Eireann timetable, Galway to Doolin, was found on his person.


He is a white male, approximately 30 years old, around 5' 10" tall approximately.


He has no distinguishing marks or tattoos, no scars or scars from any operation.


He has dark hair on the side and back of his head, but is predominantly bald on top.


He was wearing the following clothing-

1. A black rain/sports jacket, size 48, 'MAIER' make. The sleeves were grey and black stripe

2. A grey 'Dunnes Stores' Hoodie, with the word 'BROOKLYN 62' stamped on the left chest

3. Plain grey t-shirt - no make

4. White 'Addidas' t-shirt

5. Black Socks

6. Black 'CASIO' Sporks watch, model SGW-100

 
Superintendent Colm O Sullivan of Ennistymon Garda station is available to  speak with the media after 4.30pm this evening the 7th June 2012 requests for interview should be made by email to this office at pressoffice@garda.ie

 
Extensive enquiries have been carried out here and abroad through our colleagues in Interpol but there has been no positive identification of the deceased to date.
