Gardai from the Garda National Drugs Unit, North Central Drugs Unit and Northern Divisional Task Force based in Santry carried out a number of searches in Dublin yesterday evening, the 13th June 2012.
During the course of a search at Slaney House, Gill Street, Dublin 1 Gardai discovered approximately 10 Kilos of MEC (Methylethcathinone) with a street value of €350,000 (subject to analysis).
A male (44yrs) and female (42yrs) were arrested and they are being detained at Store St, Garda station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
Note - MEC (Methylethcathinone) is a synthetic stimulant.
