Drug seizure and arrest in Menlough, Galway on the 19/6/12

As part of an ongoing operation targeting the cultivation of cannabis in the Galway area, Gardai have discovered cannabis with an approx. value of €640,000.

The discovery, which involved 800 plants and various growing equipment, was made at a property at Clovewood, Derrylissane, Menlough, Co Galway at 2pm today, the 19th June 2012.

One male in his late 20's was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at Galway Garda Station under Section 2 of Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

The discovery was as part of a planned search and involved members of the Divisional Drug Unit and local Gardaí.
