As part of an ongoing investigation into dissident republican activity in the West of Ireland, Gardaí searched a house at Clogher, Claremorris, Co Mayo on Saturday 9th June 2012.
During the search Gardaí recovered explosive substances, as well as component parts for bomb making.
Two men, on in his late 20s and another in his 30s, were arrested at the scene and taken to Castlebar Garda Station where they are currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939.
An Army EOD team attended the scene which was sealed off for a technical and forensic examination. The investigation is ongoing.
