Aggravated burglary in Tuam, Galway on the 7/6/12

Gardai in Tuam are investigating an aggravated burglary on the 7th/8th June 2012 at Ballyroe, Williamstown, Co. Galway.

The incident occurred at approx 11am on the 7th June and it is believed the culprits spent a number of hours in the house leaving at approximately 2.30am on the 8th June, they fled the scene with a small amount of cash.


The injured parties in this incident two men in their 80's received minor during the incident and received medical attention locally.


The intruders were believed to be in possession of a knife and a firearm.  They are described as: both male, one culprit approximately 5’5" in height and medium build, wearing a balaclava, dark clothes and runners, the second culprit was taller, medium build, balaclava with dark clothes and runners.


Gardai in Tuam are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed any thing unusual or saw any suspicious activity in or around the area during the time or in the preceding days, or has any information concerning the incident to contact Tuam Garda Station at 093- 70840, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
