Gardai in Pearse St are investigating an assault on 2 males on Merrion Sq at approximately 7.20pm on the 10th July 2012.
The two males assaulted received head injuries and were taken to St Vincents hospital for treatment and later released, a female who was in their company was uninjured.
Three culprits were involved in the incident. Gardai arrived on the scene and arrested a male(21yrs) a short distance away. He was detained at Kevin St Garda station and charged on the 11th in connection with the incident.
On the 11th a second male(24yrs) was arrested and taken to Kevin St Garda station and detained under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended. He was charged on the 12th July in connection with the incident.
