Gardai in Carlow are investigating a serious assault which occurred on College St. Carlow on the 15th July 2012.
At approximately 3am a 30year old man sustained serious head injuries during an incident at College St. He was taken to St. Lukes General Hospital and later removed to Beaumont Hospital.
A man aged in his 20s was arrested and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at Carlow Garda Station. He has since been released without charge and a file in being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Investigating gardaí are appealing for witnesses and in particular to anybody in the vicinity of College St. in an around 3am this morning to contact them.
