Section 30 Arrest on the North Circular Road, Dublin on the 8/7/12

Gardai in Fitzgibbon Street while on beat patrol, stopped and searched a vehicle on the North Circular Road, Dublin 1 at approximately 5.30p.m. yesterday evening Sunday 8th July 2012.

A firearm and a number of other implements were located in the vehicle. The sole occupant of car, a male (25 years), was arrested at scene and taken to Mountjoy Garda Station where he was detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.


He was later released from custody and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
