Gardai in Drogheda are continuing to appeal for witnesses as part of an investigation into the death of a 53-year-old man on the 24th July 2012.
A post mortem examination was carried out this afternoon (25/7/2012) at the Dublin City Morgue by the State Pathologist Dr. Marie Cassidy. Further tests will be required in determining the exact cause of death which may take a number of weeks.
Gardai are renewing their appeal to the public for witnesses to an incident on Thursday, 19th July 2012, at the junction of Bessexwell Lane and Shop Street, Drogheda. At this stage in the investigation a number of witnesses have come forward and are assisting Gardai with their enquiries.
An incident room has been established at Drogheda Garda Station and the investigation is ongoing.

Gardai in Drogheda are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the death of a 53 year old male on the 24th July 2012.
The man was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, on the 22nd July and later removed to Beaumont Hospital where he was pronounced dead this afternoon (24/7/2012).
The State Pathologist has been notified and a post mortem examination is due to take place at the City Morgue tomorrow afternoon. No further information is available at this time pending the outcome of the examination.
