Gardai in Roscommon are investigating the circumstances of a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision on the 24th January 2012.
The collision occurred at approx. 3.15am on the Roscommon to Castlecoote Road (R366) 2.5 miles outside Roscommon town. The sole occupant of the car a male in his mid 20's was pronounced dead at the scene and has been removed to the morgue at Roscommon Hospital.
The road is closed to facilitate a Forensic Collision examination and diversions are in place.
