Gardai are investigating the circumstances surrounding a serious assault at Fermoy on the 28th January 2012.
At approximately 20.30 hours a 40 year old man sustained serious head injuries during an altercation at a house in the Rathcarrig area of Fermoy. He was taken by Ambulance to Cork University Hospital.
A man and woman, aged in their mid 20s, were arrested at the scene. They are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at Fermoy Garda Station.
The scene is preserved pending a technical examination.
