Fatal road traffic collision in Abbeyfeale, Limerick on the 4/1/12

Gardai in Abbeyfeale are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred at Ballaugh, Abbeyfeale at approximately 5pm on the 4/1/12.

A van was in collision with a male pedestrian in his 60’s.  The male received fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick.  The driver of the van was uninjured. 
 

This minor road had been closed pending completion of an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
