Gardaí in Waterford are investigating a stabbing incident that occurred on Johns Street shortly after 4am this morning, Saturday, the 14th January 2012.
A 23 year old man received wounds to his neck, face and back in the incident and was taken to Waterford Regional Hospital.
An 18 year old man was arrested a short time later close by at Jenkins Lane Car Park.
He is presently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Waterford Garda Station.
