Gardai at Kilmainham are investigating the circumstances of a serious assault on a female in Rialto, Dublin 8.
A 28 year old woman sustained serious head injuries during an incident at a house on Ruben Walk during the early hours of Sunday morning (5/2/2012). She is currently receiving treatment at Beaumont Hospital.
A man aged in his 20's was arrested yesterday evening (5/2/2012) by investigating Gardai and is detained at Kevin Street Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
The scene remains preserved for a technical examination.
