The team investigating the murder of Alan Mc Nally carried out a planned search operation in Finglas this morning, Tuesday 7th February 2012, assisted by the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Organised Crime Unit, the Divisional Search Team and the Garda Dog Unit.
This search resulted in a 47 year old female being arrested at a house in the area.
She is currently detained at Finglas Garda Station under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007 (max detention period of 7 days).
A search is continuing on waste ground at St. Margarets, Co. Dublin.

Gardai investigating the fatal shooting in Finglas this morning have named the victim as 36 year old Alan McNally.
Gardai wish to appeal for assistance from the public in relation to identifying the two suspects believed to be involved. The gunman is described as being 6’ tall, stocky build, wearing a blue or navy jacket with a red collar, a blue or navy hooded top with the hood pulled up, black tracksuit bottoms with white stripes at the bottom and white runners. He was also wearing gloves and had a scarf covering his face.
It is believed that a second male remained outside, he is described as being 5’10’’ in height of slim build and was wearing a white/grey tracksuit bottoms, black hooded top, white runners, gloves and a ‘scream’ type mask. Both men were seen fleeing on foot towards the Casement area.

Gardai investigating the fatal shooting on Barry Road on the 2/2/12 will hold a press briefing at 12.30pm today (2/2/12) in Finglas Garda Station.

Gardai in Finglas are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred inside a public house on Barry Road, Finglas at approximately 1am on the 2/2/12.
A lone gunman entered the public house and shot a male in his 30’s. The injured male was taken to Connolly Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The gunman made his escape.
The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and the services of the State Pathologist and the Garda Technical Bureau have been requested.
