Gardai at Skibbereen are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal road traffic collision at Mohonagh, Skibbereen, Co Cork on the 26th February 2012.
The collision, which involved a car and motorcyclist occurred at approximately 5pm on the Skibbereen to Ballydehob Road (approx 3 miles outside Skibbereen). The motorcyclist a male in his late 40's was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been removed to Cork University Hospital. The male driver of the car was uninjured.
The scene of the collision remains closed pending a Forensic Collision examination and diversions are in place.
