As part of an ongoing operation targeting the cultivation of illegal drugs in the Mullingar area Gardai have seized cannabis plants and arrested two males.
Gardai from Mullingar carried out a planned search of an industrial unit on the outskirts of Mullingar at approximately 2.30pm on the 4/2/12. The search uncovered a grow house within the structure.
Cannabis plants with an estimated street value of up to €500,000 (pending analysis) were discovered. Two males, 37 and 42 years of age, were arrested at the scene and are currently detained at Mullingar Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
