Drug seizure and arrest in Kildare on the 8/2/12

As part of an ongoing investigation Gardaí have seized a large quantity of cannabis plants and arrested a male during an operation in Co Kildare.

The discovery was made in the early hours of this morning (8/2/2012) when members of the Garda National Drugs Unit and Gardaí from the Kildare Division searched premises in the Kilcullen area.


Cannabis Plants with an estimated street value of €800,000 (subject to analysis) were seized.


A male aged in his 50's was arrested and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at Newbridge Garda Station.
