Gardaí at Castlerea are investigating 2 fatal shooting incidents that took place between 9.30pm and mid-night last night, Friday 10th February 2012.
After mid-night a 44 year old man was found dead in a silver Volkswagen Passat car at Cloonfad, Co. Roscommon. Shortly after 1.30am a 30 year old female was found dead in a silver Volkswagen Passat car at Springvale, Cloonfad, a short distance away.
Both scenes have been preserved.
The services of the State Pathologist and Technical Examiners have been requested and an incident room has been established in Castlerea Garda Station.
