Gardai in Pearse Steet investigating the death at the junction of Nassau Street and Dawson Street have identified the male who died.
The male in his late 20’s who was arrested in relation to the death remains in custody in Pearse Street.

Gardai in Pearse Street investigating the death of a male at the junction of Nassau Street and Dawson Street at approximately 5.45pm on the evening of the 6th December 2012 are appealing for information to help identify the male that died to contact Pearse Street Garda Station on 01- 6669000, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
The physical description of the deceased is as follows:
White male, aged mid to late 20s, 6ft approximately in height, dark hair (unkempt) slim build, guant features, wearing 3 layers of clothes on upper body:
(i) grey hoody – closest to skin
(ii) black woollen jumper with a ¼ zip up to neck, and,
(iii) black windbreaker
He had a black tracksuit bottoms under blue jeans and had a navy cloth belt with a silver clasps wearing white puma runners and had an orange high vis jacket in his pocket. He was also wearing a yellow coral shell effect necklace.
He had no wallet or ID and just some coins in his pocket. He had a blue disposable cigarette lighter and a set of keys with an unique key ring of a dried cigarette butt in a plastic container.
He has extensive tattoos described as follows:
Right chest – monochrome tattoo depicting a dragon
Right upper arm - monochrome tattoo depicting a dragon with a smaller tattoo under it depicting what appears to be of a scorpion
Left upper arm / shoulder – full length ‘half sleeve’ of individual monochrome graphics
Right upper tight – polychrome tattoo depicting a small dragon.
He also had a mouth piercing with a white stud with red stripes and a tongue piercing with a silver stud.
Garda are aware from investigations that the deceased got on a Dublin Bus in Jobstown Tallaght D. 24 at 15:58 hrs on the 6/12/2012 and got off it in the Dublin 8 area approximately 1 hour later.

Gardai in Pearse Street are investigating the suspicious death of a male at the junction of Nassau Street and Dawson Street at approximately 5.45pm this evening (6.12.12).
A male in his late 20’s was fatally injured when he was struck by a bus. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured.
The services of the State Pathologist and the Garda Technical Bureau have been requested and diversions are in place.
