As part of an ongoing operation into criminal activity in the South-east of the country Gardai from the Garda National Drugs Unit assisted by local Gardai from Waterford searched a house at The Crescent, Waterford City on the 30th November 2012 and seized 20 kilos of Cannabis herb with an approximate street value of €400,000(pending analysis).
The Gardai arrested five males(30's) in connection with the seizure and they were taken to Waterford and Tramore Garda stations where they were detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice( Drug Trafficking ) Act 1996 as amended.
Two males were released Friday evening without charge, the other three were charged and appeared this afternoon the 2nd December 2012 before a special sitting of Waterford District Ct. They were remanded in custody to appear before Waterford District Ct on Tuesday the 4th December at 10.30am.
