As part of an intelligence led operation, Gardai from the Garda National Drugs Unit stopped a van in Templeogue and searched an apartment in City West on the 7/12/12 and recovered 35 kilos of herbal cannabis with an approx street value of €700,000 (subject to analysis).
The Gardai stopped a van in Templeogue shortly after 11am on the 7th Dec, during the course of the seach Gardai discoveres 21 Kilos of herbal cannabis and arrested a 42yr old male he is being detained at Rathfarnham Garda station under the provisions of section 2 of the Criminal Justice( Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
During a follow up search Gardai searched an apartment at Swiftbrook, City West and discovered 14 Kilos of herbal cannabis and ammunition. Three male were arrested (37,37 and 31yrs) and are being detained under the provisions of section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
On the 8th December 2012, three of the above males were charged in connection with the seizure and will appear in CCJ Parkgate St at 4pm on the 8th Dec 2012. The other male was released without charge.
