Gardai in Mullingar are investigating a two vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred at Ballagh on the Delvin Road outside Mullingar on the 25/08/12 at approximately 6pm.
The driver of one of the cars, a woman in her 40’s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The two passengers in the car, a 14 and 7 year old girl, were taken to the Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar. The 7 year old is described as being in a critical condition and the 14 year old as having minor injuries.
The driver and sole occupant of the second vehicle, a male in his 40’s, was taken to Tallaght Hospital with injuries described as not life threatening.
This stretch of road is currently closed pending completion of an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
