Gardai in Glanmire are investigating a 2 vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the M8 Southbound near Watergrass Hill on the 27/4/12 at approximately 6.20am involving a car and a lorry.
A female in her 60’s, who was a back seat passenger in the car, was seriously injured and taken to Cork University Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. The female driver and other two passengers in the car, a male and a female, were also taken to CUH. The driver of the lorry did not need hospital treatment.
This stretch of road is currently closed pending completion of an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
