Gardai in Ashbourne are investigating the circumstances of a fatal road traffic collision on the N2 just outside Ashbourne on the 2nd April 2012.
The collision between a lorry and a van occurred at approx, 9.05pm on the 2nd April 2012 at The Rath, Ashbourne just outside the town (north of the town). One male (32yrs) was seriously injured and taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital Blanchardstown where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the lorry was uninjured.
The road was closed to facilitate a Forensic collision examination but has re-opened.
