Gardai in Waterford are investigating the circumstances of the suspicious death of a female 35yrs in Waterford on the 4th September 2011.
The body of a female was discovered at the Cousebridge roundabout (on the outer ring road of Waterford city) by Gardai shortly after midnight on the 4th September 2011. She was in a serious condition and taken by ambulance to Waterford Regional Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
A male 29yrs was arrested by Gardai and is currently being detained in Waterford Garda station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended in connection with the incident.
The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and the road between Cousebridge roundabout, Airport rd roundabout and Ballindud Road roundabout is currently closed.
Gardai are appealling for witnesses who may have seen suspicious or unusual activity in and around the Cousebridge roundabout or on the approach roads leading to Cousebridge roundabout between 11.30pm on the 3rd and 12.10am on the 4th September 2011 to contact them in Waterford on 051 305300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
