As part of an ongoing investigation the Garda Computer Crime Investigation Unit attached to the Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation carried out searches at two houses in Counties Galway and Offaly this morning.
During the course of the searches computers and other media equipment was seized and removed for forensic examination.
Two males aged in their late teens were arrested. They are currently being held at Tullamore and Galway Garda Stations under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
During the course of the search in Co Offaly equipment and chemicals associated with the production of controlled drugs were seized.
The investigation is ongoing.
