As a result of an on-going investigation into a number of robberies and aggravated burglaries in the south Kilkenny area, Gardai in Thomastown arrested 3 males on the 25th Nov 2011.
The Gardai carried out a total of six searches on the morning of the 25th November 2011. During the searches the Gardai recovered 2 pipe bombs (in early stages of manufacture), firearms, ammunition and cash. Three males in their 20's were arrested. They are all being detained under the provisions of Section 30 Offences Against the State Act 1939 as amended. 2 are being detained in Thomastown and 1 in Waterford.
Investigations are ongoing.
