As a result of a Garda National Drugs Unit intelligence led investigation, members of the Garda National Drugs Unit assisted by the Garda Organised Crime Unit and Revenue Customs Services stopped and searched a car in Terenure at approximately 7pm last night (12/11/11).
During the course of this search cocaine (subject to analysis) with an estimated street value of €70,000 was seized. Two males were arrested (38 yrs & 28 yrs) and were taken to Terenure Garda Station where they were detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
In a follow up operation a house was searched last night and a 34 year old female was arrested in connection with this investigation. She was taken to Rathmines Garda Station and detained under Section 2 Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
The 28 year old male was released from custody today (13/11/11) a file will be prepared for the DPP.The second male (38 yrs) remains in custody. The female (34 yrs) is expected to appear before the Courts of Criminal Justice tomorrow morning charged in connection with this investigation.
