Gardai investigating the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Cork area have seized drugs with an estimated value of up to €590,000 (subject to analysis) and arrested a male following a planned operation on the 28/11/11.
Gardai from the Anglesea Street Drug Unit stopped a car at Sallybrook, Glanmire yesterday afternoon. Cannabis herb with an estimated street value of up to €380,000 (subject to analysis) was seized and the male driver, who was in his 30’s and the sole occupant, was arrested at the scene.
In a follow up operation yesterday afternoon, with the assistance of Gardai from Cobh, a house was searched in the Carrigtwohill area and further controlled drugs consisting of cannabis and cocaine with an estimated street value of up to €210,000 ( subject to analysis ) was seized.
The male arrested is currently detained at Cobh Garda Station under Section 2 of The Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
