Gardai at Ballyconnell investigating a serious assault that occurred on the 7th September 2010 which resulted in the death of a 73 year old male who passed away on the 6th of October 2010 have this evening arrested an 18 year old male in connection with the incident.
He is currently detained at Ballyconnell Garda Station and will appear before a Special Sitting of Ballyconnell District Court on the 31.05.11 at 10.30am. Previous press release listed below, refers.

Gardai at Ballyconnell investigating a serious assault that occurred on the 7th September 2010 wish to appeal to the public for their assistance.
A 73 year old man was discovered injured at his home in Nedd, Doogary, Killeshandra, Co. Cavan on the morning of the 7th September 2010 and was brought to Cavan General Hospital. The man has died this evening ( 6.10.10 )
As part of the investigation one male was arrested on the 11/09/10 where he was detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Ballyconnell Garda Station and was later released without charge.
Gardai are particularly interested in hearing from any witnesses that may have been in the vicinity of Nedd, Doogary between 8pm on Monday the 6th of September and 11am on Tuesday the 7th of September.
