Fatal road traffic collision at Tipperary on the 21 May 2011

Gardaí at Tipperary Town are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the R505 at Glasdrum, Cappawhite, Co. Tipperary.

The collision happened shortly before 12.30am this morning, Saturday 21st May 2011.

It involved a lorry and a car.  The 19 year old male driver of the car suffered fatal injuries.  His female passenger was taken to Clonmel Hospital with injuries not believed to be life threatening.

The road remains closed at present to facilitate a forensic examination.
