Gardai investigating the shooting that occurred at An Grianan Fidh, Aikens Village, Sandyford, Dublin 18 this morning, the 11/3/11 wish to appeal to the public for their assistance.
Gardai have arrested a male in his early 40’s in West Dublin at lunchtime today in relation to this shooting and he is being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at Blackrock Garda Station.
A silver Ford Mondeo car registration 99 D 47450 which was used by the suspects was abandoned at the scene and two males, no better described, ran from the car in the direction of Sandyford Hall Estate towards Kilgobbin Road / Murphystown Road.
Gardai wish to appeal to anyone that may have seen these two males running from the car in the direction as describes, these males may have got into another car or even a Taxi.
In addition gardai are keen to trace the movements of this silver Ford Mondeo before the incident and any unusual or suspicious activity that may have been seen in and around Aiken Estate in the day leading up to the shooting. Two men (38 & 17 yrs) were injured, one (38yrs) seriously and were both taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital. The area has been sealed off for a Forensic examination.
