Gardaí in Ballina Co Mayo investigating the disappearance of Sandra Collins. (Please see Press Release below) have this evening (25/3/11) released a 46 year old man from Garda custody.
A file will now be prepared for the information of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
A further arrest was made in the Ballina area today (25/3/11) in relation to this investigation. A 58 year old man is currently detained at Ballina Garda Station under the provisions of Section 30 Offences against the State Act 1939.

Gardai investigating the disappearance of Sandra Collins in the Killala area of Co. Mayo on 4/5th of December 2000 have arrested a male in his 40’s this morning ( 24.03.11) in the Ballina area.
He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Ballina Garda Station.
The 21 year old female who had been detained was released without charge this morning.
