Gardai in Ballyconnell, Co. Cavan are investigating a two vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the Swanlinbar to Ballyconnell Road (N87) at Derrynacreeve Cross at approximately 3.30am on the 6.03.11.
A 30 year old male was fatally injured when the car he was a front seat passenger in collided with a second vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to Cavan General Hospital. There were four other people in the same car as the deceased (2 male and 2 female) who were all taken to Hospital in Enniskillen.
The driver and sole occupant of the second car was uninjured.
The road is currently closed pending completion of an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
