Gardai in Mitchelstown are appealing for witnesses following a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the old N8 between Kibeheny and Mitchelstown.
At approximately 18.50 hours a woman in her late teens was fatally injured when the 4x4 vehicle she was travelling in collided with a ditch. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Six other occupants of the vehicle (4 female, 2 male all aged in their late teens) were taken by ambulance to Cork University Hospital.
Forensic collision investigators are at the scene and traffic diversions are in place.
