Fatal road traffic collision on the M7 at Clonkeen, Portlaoise, Laois on the 18/3/11

Gardai in Portlaoise are investigating a fatal single vehicle road traffic collision that occured on the M7 at Clonkeen, Portlaoise on Friday afternoon at 12.45 hours on the 18th March 2011.

The driver of the car collided with the centre barrier of the motorway and came to a stop.  He was removed to Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise where he later died. A Post mortem will take place later today.

The scene was examined by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and the road has now re-opened.
