Fatal road traffic collision at Knocklofty, Tipperary on the 3/3/11

Gardai at are investigating a two vehicle collision which resulted in the death of a woman in her late 40’s. The accident occurred at Knocklofty, on the Clonmel to Ardfinnan Road at about 12.30 p.m. today, the 3rd March 2011.

The accident occurred when a car collided with a tractor. The woman was the sole occupant of the car and was pronounced dead at the scene. She has been removed to South Tipperary General Hospital. The driver of the tractor was unhurt.

The road is currently closed to facilitate the examination of the scene by Garda forensic collision investigators.
