Fatal road traffic collision at Holycross, Tipperary on the 13/3/11

Gardai in Thurles are investigating a two vehicle fatal road traffic collision at Holycross on the R661 at approximately 11am on the 13/3/11.

A female in her 70’s was fatally injured when the car she was driving collided with a second vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene and her body has been removed to Limerick Regional Hospital. She was the lone occupant of the car. The two occupants of the second vehicle were uninjured. 

The road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.  Local diversions are in place.
