As part of an on going investigation into the sale and supply of illegal drugs in the South-East of the country, Gardai from Carlow stopped a car on the South bound lane of the M9 at Johnstown, Bennekerry, Carlow at approx 1.25pm today, the 29th March 2011.
During the course of the search Gardai discovered approx 20 kilos of cannabis herb with a street value of €240,000 (subject to analysis).<_o3a_p>
One man in his early 30’s was arrested and is being detained at Carlow Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drugs Trafficking) Act 1996.<_o3a_p>
