Discovery of male body in Limerick on the 7/3/11 - Murder enquiry launched

The Post Mortem on the 71 year old man found in a house at St. Munchin’s Street has been concluded.

The results of the Post Mortem have been supplied to investigating Gardaí but are not being released for operational reasons.

This is now a Murder enquiry.

Gardaí will hold a Press Briefing at Mayorstone Garda Station at 8pm this evening, the 8/3/11.

The deceased man has been named as James Boyce, 71 years.

Anyone who may have seen Mr. Boyce between the early hours of Saturday morning (5/3/11) and late yesterday evening (7/3/11), or who have may information in relation to this incident is asked to contact the Garda incident room at Mayorstone Garda Station 061-456989, the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666-111 or any Garda Station.

Gardaí at Henry Street in Limerick are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body of a 71 year old man in a house at St. Munchin’s Street, St. Mary’s Park, Limerick City yesterday evening, the 7th March 2011.

A Post Mortem is currently taking place at the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick.

The scene at St. Munchin’s Street is being examined by the Garda Technical Bureau.
