Gardai from Porlaoise investigating the murder of Thomas Thompson in 2007 have this afternoon the 21st June 2011 charged a man(27yrs) in connection with Mr Thompson's death. The man appeared before Carrick-on-Shannon District Court and was remanded in custody to appear before Harristown District Ct, Castlerea on Friday the 24th June 2011 at 10.30am. Ref no 546/11 Previous Press releases Gardai from Portlaoise investigating the murder of Thomas Thompson in 2007 have arrested a man in his 30's in Ballymote, Co Sligo this morning the 20th June 2011. The male is being detained under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended. Ref 543/11 Pls see previous press releases. The human remains found at Dysart, Portlaoise on 23/1/08 have been identified as the body of Tommy Thompson whose disappearance on April 20th 2007 was being investigated.
