Gardai in Belmullet are seeking the public's assistance in relation to an investigation into an alleged serious assault on a female at the 'Party against the Pipe Festival' at Aughoose, Pullathomas, Ballina, Co. Mayo between 11.30 p.m. on 4/6/11 and 3 a.m. on 5/6/11 over the June Bank Holiday weekend.
A large number of people attended the festival and Gardai are asking everybody who attended to make contact with them.
Some people have already come forward and have been assisting with enquiries.
