Gardai in Portlaoise are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occurred at Windygap Rd, Stradbally, Laois at approx 11.30am on the 29/7/11.
A woman in her 80's was fatally injured when she lost control of the car she was driving. She was taken to the Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise where she was pronounced dead. She was the sole occupant of the car and no other vehicle was involved in the collision.
This stretch of road was closed for a time to allow an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. The road has now reopened.
