Gardaí in Gort are investigating the circumstances surrounding a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occurred on Monday, the 25th July 2011.
At approximately 11.40pm on the 25th July 2011 a single vehicle collision occurred approx. 2 miles outside Gort on the old Ennis to Gort Road (N81). The driver (18yrs) was seriously injured in the collision, he was taken to University Hospital, Galway where he later died. A male passenger (18yrs) was also injured and taken to University Hospital, Galway, his condition is described as stable.
The scene of the collision remains closed pending a Garda forensic collision examination, diversions are in place.
