Fatal road traffic collision on the N9, Castedermot, Kildare on the 11/1/11

Gardaí at Castledermot, Co. Kildare are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the N9 on the outskirts of Castedermot at approximately 10.20pm last night (Tuesday January 11th 2011).

A 33 year old male was seriously injured when he was struck by a vehicle.  He was taken to Naas General Hospital where he died a short time later.

The road is currently closed pending a Garda technical examination of the scene.
