Fatal road traffic collision on the N59 at Owenbeg, Sligo on the 6/1/11

Gardaí at Easkey, Sligo are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred at approximately 2.30pm this afternoon, Thursday 6th January 2011, on the N59 at Owenbeg.

The collision involved a motorcycle and a van pulling a trailer.  The 32 year old male motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road is still closed to facilitate a forensic collision investigation and diversions are in place.
