Gardaí in Tullamore are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occurred at Derryadd, Killeigh, Co. Offaly.
The collision occurred at approximately 10.05 pm last night (12/1/11) when a motor car left the road and struck a fence. The 17 year old male driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been removed to Tullamore General Hospital.
A male passenger and only other occupant of the car received minor injuries.
The scene of the collision remains closed this morning pending a technical examination by Garda forensic collision investigators.
